Each season, I start with a collection of archival images to visualize the story I want to tell. How a woman wants to feel and what kind of attitude she wants to embody with each look guides the season. It’s all about muse, mood, materials, and above all, storytelling. I think of High Summer as the follow up to Spring that we’ve been longing for. I looked to an intellectual, chic woman like Joan Didion at home—with her coffee, her books, her work, her thoughts—and mid-century architecture set in a nonchalant, cool place like Los Angeles. The woman I envision is self-aware and culturally attune. She’s a creative, a collector, a curator. She is sophisticated and chic, but relaxed. She moves through her life effortlessly with ease. This is how I visualize the season.
The High Summer campaign came together in an authentic, beautiful mid-century home tucked in the hills of Topanga Canyon, where we met up with model/actress, Dree Hemingway, who has recently stepped into her new role: mother.
The foundation of my brand is built on dressing women, connecting with women and serving women with the tools needed to move through the complexity and fullness of life with ease, sophistication and comfort. I hope to inspire women to expand their view of their personal style and of themselves.
